Context The National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACIT) coordinates the activities to strengthen the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation of Honduras. Its purpose is to support the continuous generation of scientific-technological knowledge and the promotion of national talent. OWSD Honduras aims to: We recognize the country's formative gaps regarding science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem). These gaps are even deeper for women, of active researchers (as) in the country only 1 in 3 are women. Of the competitive funds for Senacit research projects between 2014-2021, 70 % were awarded to men. In this context, in alignment with the government plan of the solidarity government that has a transverse gender approach, Senacit and OWSD Honduras organize the first national women's contest in science, technology and innovation. 2.
